Lauren is one of two missionaries with InterVarsity at WMU that we support. Her mission is to rise up leaders from the ranks of upperclassmen to minister to the needs of new freshman.
For many freshmen, this is their first experience of being far from home, on their own. While they may come from Christian families and are members at their home church, they are faced with a wide variety of opportunities and temptations, and can become disconnected with Christ. Lauren trains students to become small group leaders who then work to keep those connections with Christ strong. She starts this fall with five leaders with the goal of doubling that number. “My dream of campus missions has come to fruition and it’s exciting to see the lives that have been changed this year”. Her ministry with students has grown already from 35 to 118.
Lauren and Ron were married this summer. Ron serves The Lord as a public school educator and coach. Pray for their new life together in ministry.
