Dar VanderWal

Pastor of Congregational Care

 

Dar VanderWal is the Pastor of Congregational Care at Centerpoint Church.  In this role, Dar leads the pastoral care ministries of Centerpoint Church.  This includes providing pastoral care and counsel to the members and friends of Centerpoint as well as training and supervising staff, elders and volunteers who are involved in our many Christ-centered caring ministries.  He also teaches the new members class.  He has been on the church staff since 1994.

 

 Dar grew up in Volga, SD and graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA and Western Theological Seminary in Holland, MI.  His wife, Kathy, have been married for 38 years.  She is a teacher at North Middle School in Portage.  They have four children, all of whom are married.  Their sons, Jon, Joel and Ben all live in Illinois.  Their daughter, Kate Davis and husband, Jeff are missionaries in Kenya.

 

 Dar likes to read murder mystery novels, play golf and take care of his yard.  In recent years he and Kathy have been traveling to visit their children and six, soon to be seven, grandchildren.
